WELCOME
Bikelijn is an event management service with a special interest in major cycling and running events.
Bikelijn can be contracted to work with you to deliver any size of sports event. I have worked with multiple businesses to make sure they have a successful event. From planning and preparing race courses, and setting up event sites to managing an event day.
Bikelijn started because of a love for events and stroopwafels on FriYAY Koffiekoekje rides. But it ended up being so much more than that.
Bikelijn
The name Bikelijn is linked to me, Carlijn. A Dutchie that moved from The Netherlands to Australia in 2013. The pronunciation of my Dutch name always needs to be explained to native English speakers, which I do by saying it sounds like a combination of 'car' and 'line'. Then, a friend commented: 'But you're not a car, you're a bike’. That was the moment the name Bikelijn was born.
After completing my Master's in Human Movement Sciences, I rolled into the event business in early 2015. Combining my contracting work through Bikelijn and my work in permanent positions, I have worked in cycling and running events across Australia and Europe. Events such as the UCI World Championships Wollongong 2022, UCI World Para-cycling Championships Glasgow 2023, UCI Road and Para World Championships Zürich 2024, Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race 2020 and 2023, UCI TISSOT Track World Cup 2019.
In 2023 I moved to The Netherlands where I have worked at Golazo in The Netherlands as an Event Manager. I got to plan events from start to finish as well as assist my colleagues on event days with the delivery. Events like the Urban Trail Series, Urban Walk Series, NN Rotterdam Marathon 2024, and Singelloop Utrecht 2023 & 2024.
Check out what events I have worked on and if you have that next challenge for me, don't hesitate to reach out to me to see how we can work together.

If I'm not working at events, I like to ride my bicycle. In the European summers of 2023 and 2024, I did two big bikepacking trips. I've written up my top tips, tricks and what not to do. If you are interested, you can read them here.
